We were asked to build the Global Content Management, Ad Management, and TV Programming Management Platform with the ability to handle 20M simultaneous Unique Visitors. SONY SPTI had grown organically in each country region to over 200M viewers, where each station broadcast center published and managed their own website. This caused a large variance in site functionality, technical ability and design look and feel. Since each channel region did not have a standard technical base, global ad serving and global content publishing was not possible. With the advent of global marketing events such as the FIFA World Cup a central content publishing platform was need to serve interactive ads integrated with regional specific content and satellite channel schedules.
We architected, built and deployed a Global CMS, Program Scheduling, and Ad Serving Network for SONY’s 300+ International TV Stations. The Platform launched on over 800 domains, in 38 Countries, and 27 languages, to an audience of 200 Million. The platform was the largest global Drupal deployment to date with the ability to handle 20M simultaneous Unique Global Visitors.
