CoachArt is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with chronic illness by providing free arts and athletics lessons. When they needed a platform that would improve their patients experience, making it easier to pair coach and student they turned to IJHANA to create a one of a kind system. With an integrated fundraising platform, the system gave CoachArt all the tools needed to run their successful non-profit.
CoachArt was founded in 2000 by Zander Lurie and Leah Bernthal, in memory of Zander’s father, Dr. Arthur Lurie, a cardiac surgeon who recognized the need for long-term support and enrichment amongst the pediatric patient population. The organization was incorporated as a 501(c)3 in 2001. In 2002, CoachArt launched as a pilot program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, enrolling 50 patients in free arts and athletics lessons. Today, CoachArt offers high-quality arts and athletics activities to over 2,000 children.
